The brush was rosewood with silver bristles, and whenever I touched it, I saw a woman in a green dress standing at the edge of the pecan grove. Not a ghost, exactly—something older, something that had been waiting for someone to pick up that brush and remember her. The story does not end with horror in the usual sense.
