Trevor Miller is a British screenwriter, filmmaker, and author whose work the Sunday Times described as “sharp and lacerating like a broken bottle.” Raised in Manchester’s post-punk underground and London’s acid house scene, Miller built his career without traditional industry pathways - a perspective that informs his no-bullshit approach to storytelling and the film business. A graduate of the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts, he has written original screenplays and pilots for studios and independent producers, collaborating with talent including Sylvester Stallone, Billy Bob Thornton, and John Cameron. His work spans high-concept thrillers and character-driven drama, with development experience across companies including Franchise Pictures, Millennium, and Muse Productions, where he also worked as an editor on projects including London Fields. Miller’s directorial debut, Riot On Redchurch Street - The Director’s Cut, was released on major streaming platforms in the US and won Best Director at the Golden State Film Festival, with Dazed calling it “wildly cinematic, like The Killing Of A Chinese Bookie.” He is also the author of the cult novel Trip City, originally published by Brian Aldiss’ Avernus Press and later reissued by Velocity Press, widely regarded as a defining work of the acid house era. Based in Los Angeles for over three decades, Miller is the author of Punk to Prestige: A Rebel Filmmaker’s Guide to Crashing the Film Industry and Making It Work for You - a practical, outsider’s blueprint for building a career in film without connections, film school, or permission.
