Peter left school at 15 and after a few years enlisted in the Royal Marine Commandos where he underwent 12 months of intensive training before being awarded the coveted green beret. Over the next 20 years he travelled extensively, and his experiences as a commando add a layer of authenticity to his novels. After leaving the forces he continued his studies gaining degrees in maths and modern physics and a master’s in computer systems engineering. Peter taught in prisons for a number of years before embarking on a career in educational management, eventually become deputy principal of a college. Peter is married with two grown up children. His daughter is renowned award winning author Jeannie Wycherley, and his son is a homicide detective in the midlands. Apart from writing, his interests include walking and fussing his dog, painting in oils and playing the keyboard (very badly).
