David Hirsch is the father of five adult children, works full-time as a wealth advisor for UBS Financial Services in Chicago and is one of the country’s most outspoken advocates for children and fathers. He is founder of two fatherhood non-profit organizations; Illinois Fatherhood Initiative, founded in 1997, one of the country’s first state-wide nonprofit fatherhood organization, whose mission is: “Connecting children & fathers and actively engaging fathers in the education of children” and 21st Century Dads Foundation, founded in 2015, whose mission is: “Improving the lives of children by raising awareness and resources for greater father involvement, and inspiring dads to be present; physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually.” 21CD’s signature program is the Special Fathers Network (SFN), a dad to dad mentoring program for fathers raising children with special needs, with more than 900 SFN Mentor Fathers in 13 countries. 21CD also hosts the SFN Dad To Dad Podcast, with more than 400 weekly episodes and the SFN Mastermind Group, where dads meet weekly to share wins, read and reflect on six books per year, discuss life’s challenges and support one another. He also gave a TEDx Talk entitled “Why We Need To Break The Cycle Of Father Absence” and is the author of seven books. He has made appearances on ABC, CBS, NBC, WGN as well as The Oprah Winfrey Show. He earned his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He was also a national fellow with W.K. Kellogg Foundation. He also enjoys scuba diving, underwater photography, endurance sports, is a two-time Ironman, R.A.A.M finisher and done a series of other cross-country cycling events. He and his wife, Peggy, have been married for 42 years and live in the Chicago area.
