يتضمن الكتاب تصنيف المعلقات العشر وشرحها، فليس في الأدب العربي قصائد اشتهرت كالمعلقات، ومن هنا فقد اهتم بها علماء العربية قديماً وحديثاً، وأولوها عنايتهم جميعاً وشروحاً وتدريساً واختياراً. ولعل شرح الخطيب التبريزي من أهمها وأجلها، ذلك لأنه استفاد ممن تقدمه من شرح تلك القصائد الغر، فجاء بشرح واف مع اختصاره. وخرج فيه من الخلاف بعدد المعلقات فأوردهن عشراً على التمام.

A man was hanged in Reading Gaol during Wilde's imprisonment there. In "The Ballad", written after his release, he tells of the horror of the event and its effect on himself and his fellow prisoners. First published 1898, under the pseudonym C.3.3 - the number by which Wilde was known in the prison, consisting of the cell block, landing number and cell number of his cell.

Ce dernier réussit à le manipuler en singeant la dévotion et il est même parvenu à devenir son directeur de conscience. Il se voit proposer d'épouser la fille de son bienfaiteur, alors même qu'il tente de séduire Elmire, la femme d'Orgon, plus jeune que son mari.

Andrew Marvell was born in Winestead-in-Holderness, in the East Riding of Yorkshire on March 31st, 1621. He was educated at Hull Grammar School, and at the age of 13 he attended Trinity College, Cambridge, and eventually received his BA degree. It is thought that in 1642 Marvell travelled in Europe and, while England was embroiled in its civil war, remained there until 1647, mastering several languages including French, Italian and Spanish.
