This story is an adaptation of the original German fairy tale König Drosselbart by the Grimm brothers. It is set among the Vikings, where Viking-girl Gro just does not fit into the customs of her society. When her father conspires with one of his "drengrs" to break her spirit, Gro uses her wit and courage to find her own path in life.
