• Why Your Business Falls Apart Every Time You Step Away
    Jul 6 2026

Your daughter asks if you love business more than her. You're standing in the kitchen and you have no idea what to say, because part of you knows she's not wrong to ask. That question is not a verdict on you as a mother. It's information about a business that needs all of you, all the time, and has no room left over for the people you built it for.

Take the call from your mum at 3pm, with a client coming in at 3:15. You step away for one week and the whole thing starts to wobble. Your daughter asks if you love work more than her and you stand there with no answer. None of that means you've built the wrong business. It means you've built one that can't yet hold what you're need it to hold.

    What this episode is about

This one is about the thing nobody in the business advice world will say out loud: what it actually costs you to run a business. Because as a woman running a business while raising a family there is a pretty good chance everything you've built right now stops at the edge of you. Step back for a week and it gets shaky. Take a real holiday and it recalibrates down to a standard you would never find acceptable. That's not a business yet, that's a job you can't leave, and it's sending a signal to your kids and your team whether you meant it to or not. I tell you about my client Em, who realised her kids friend’s didn't even know her name at school, and the one small change she made for the version of her family that's ten years away. Then I answer a question from a woman whose daughter asked her the hard thing, and I show you why the answer is never less business. It's a differently built one.

    Key takeaways

    • You stop measuring your business by revenue or hours and start asking the question that actually matters: how far does what you've built travel when you're not the one carrying it.
    • You see your full life (family, business, community, the woman you are underneath all of it) as the thing that gives your decisions leverage, not the thing slowing you down.
    • You find your butterfly. One small, structural change held steady, instead of one more heroic push that depends on you showing up forever.
    • You get language for the moment your child asks where she fits, and a way to answer that doesn't shrink your ambition or pretend the guilt isn't there.
    • You name what you're demonstrating right now, today, in the business you actually have. Not the one you're hoping to have once things calm down.

    • Building a business that runs without you
    • The cost of being the load-bearing wall in your own business

  • When You Don't Know What You Want Anymore
    Jun 29 2026

Someone asks you what you want and you give them a good answer. Coherent. Covers all the bases. Sounds like a woman who has thought hard about her business and her life. Deep down somewhere you’ve not explored for a long while, you know the answer isn't actually yours. You have been wanting for everyone else for so long that the question "what do I want, just for me" lands like a it’s being spoken in a language you used to speak and can't quite find the words in anymore.

This episode is about the want you have managed down for so long you have lost access to it. Because the want that names itself in the first person, the one that says I want this, for me, got coded as selfish somewhere a long way back, and you have been running on the acceptable version ever since which means shoving your ambition down to the bottom of every list you have. And you know you have a lot of lists. I unpack why that hollow feeling tends to arrive right when the business finally (from the outside) looks like it's working, where your real want goes when you shove it down for so long, and the one question that helps to pull it back up to the surface. This isn't about vision boarding (again!), this is the groundwork that sits under every plan worth building for the woman integrating her family and business without choosing between the two.

    What you'll walk away with:

    • Why the polished, impressive answer to "what do you want" is so often the tell that you've stopped counting yourself among the people you're serving
    • What actually happens to a want when you won't say it out loud (it doesn't leave, it goes underground, and from there it starts running your decisions in directions you can't see)
    • How to tell the difference between a want that was never yours and one you've outgrown, and why both leave you standing in the same palce
    • The single sentence to finish on paper today, before you talk yourself into the managed-down version
    • Why nobody else was ever holding the permission you've been waiting on, and what shifts the day you stop waiting for it

    What to listen to next:

    • Redefining what success actually looks like for you

  • What Your Business Pace Is Saying Without You
    Jun 22 2026

You think you're keeping it on the inside. The hard morning with the kids, the employee who isn't coping, the thing you're internally bracing against but you're not talking about it, so you've decided you're managing it.

In this episode we are talking about why you're not actually hiding it at all. You're broadcasting it. There's a difference between holding something inside and not transmitting it, and most of us have only ever done the first one.

Your business has a pace, a rhythm, that baseline frequency that everyone around you is reading before you've even said a single word. Your team feels it so do your kids. They don't know if it's business. They just know which version of you walked through the door today, and whether they need to brace or not.

This episode is about what your pace is actually saying. Not what you think you're projecting but what is actually landing for the people around you. Because if your business lurches between get-it-all-done sprints and the crash that follows, your people aren't recording a productive month. They're recording instability and they start making decisions based on what they think you need instead of what the business actually needs, because the signal coming from the top keeps changing shape.

The good news sits underneath all of it: the steady signal is learnable. And it's the thing that finally lets the business hold itself together when you're not in the room.

    What you'll walk away with

    • A way to tell the difference between containing your stress and transmitting it, and which one you've actually been doing
    • Why the surge-and-crash cycle costs you more than it ever produces, and why the recovery from the crash quietly eats the momentum the sprint was supposed to build
    • The reason "it's fine" from a team member is almost never information, and what it's actually telling you about the signal they're picking up from you
    • Where to start when something feels off and you can't name it yet. (No not a team audit, or a culture survey)
    • The one question to ask yourself this week that most women never think to ask, and won't love the answer to

  • The Tiredness Sleep Won't Fix (And What It Actually Is)
    Jun 16 2026

You've been demanding the same output from yourself in March as you do in July. Same pace, same targets, same standard, even when March feels like wading through mud and you can't work out why. So you tell yourself the thing you always tell yourself - just push through, be disciplined, just stay consistent and eventually you will get it together.

That output you’ve been demanding is the part that won’t ever work for you.

In this one, Sarah pulls apart the flat-line model of success the business world keeps selling you. The one where every week looks like last week, only slightly bigger, forever, with no dips or quieter patches and no seasons where you deliberately do less. That model was built for someone who wakes up, works, and goes to sleep. Not for a woman running a household with its own calendar (footy season, the school musical, a dad who just came through an aortic bypass), whose biology runs in cycles, whose kids' needs shift across every term and every year. You have three seasonal systems running at once. Biological, domestic, business. For you failure mode is not running one of them badly. It's overriding all three at the same time and then wondering why you feel depleted in a way sleep hasn’t touched in years. This is Sacred Seasons, the Picture-lever work that builds your Generous Capacity instead of mortgaging it.

    What you'll walk away with:

    • The reason a quieter season feels like failing, and why that belief is doing more damage to your business than any slow month ever could.
    • A way to read which of your three seasons you're actually in right now, not the one you wish you were in, so you stop assigning expansion-season work to a recovery-season body.
    • The structural reason your revenue is bolted to your hours, and the two pieces that have to change before you can grow the top line without growing the week.
    • Permission, and the architecture to back it, to treat recovery as a productive season that builds the structure your next expansion runs on. Not a season you're wasting.

    What to listen to next:

    • What your business pace is broadcasting to everyone around you. The rhythm piece, is dropping next, on the signal you're sending your employees, your kids, and your clients without saying a word.

    • Building structure with room in it instead of a cage with better wallpaper — for when you've named the season and now you need the systems that hold it.

  • When Your Own Business Starts to Feel Like a Cage
    Jun 8 2026

You spent months building the system. The workspace, the SOPs, every process mapped out, the whole thing finally making sense. And then your youngest got sick. Not seriously, just the kind of sick where they have to be home and they need you. When you came back to your business, it felt like someone had changed the locks while you were gone.

    What this episode is about

Here's the design habit almost none of us know we're running. You build the business and you carefully put everyone in it. Your clients, your team, your revenue targets, your content calendar. And somewhere in all that thoughtful architecture, without ever quite deciding to, you leave yourself out. So when a real week lands, the structure has nowhere to put you, and you end up feeling like you're falling behind in the thing you built with your own hands. This episode is about the question I ask clients that tends to land harder than almost anything else: where do you actually live in everything you've built for everyone else? And it's about Breathable Structure, which is what corrects it. A business designed around your actual capacity, with room in it for the week your kid is home, because that week is real and not an aberration you're supposed to apologise for.

    What you'll walk away with

    • A way to spot the most expensive version of being designed out, the one you've consistently been doing to yourself, and where it's showing up in your week right now
    • The difference between your theoretical capacity (your perfect week, which you have never once actually had) and your actual capacity (the one with the sick kid and the 3am thunderstorm), and why building for the first guarantees you break on the second
    • What it looks like to put yourself on your own capacity map with the same rigour you already give your team's leave and your clients' load, not as a nice-to-have, as a structural requirement
    • The three things that decide whether your structure bends or breaks the next time something real goes sideways, which it will
    • Why the sick-leave conversation you have at home isn't a domestic detail. It's how you stop your business carrying a cost that was never fair for it to carry, and how you start building Enduring Strength instead of dependence

  • Why "Just Delegate More" Never Works
    Jun 1 2026

You looked at the dishes in the sink and the first thought was "I need to clean it." Not "someone." You. Because somewhere along the way, someone quietly started meaning you, every single time. That automatic claiming of every dropped thing, at home and in the business, is the exact pattern we are naming today, and it runs a lot deeper than the dishes.

Here's what I want you to sit with this week. The most useful-sounding advice in this whole industry is "just delegate more," and for the woman I work with, it almost never works. Not because you haven't released enough tasks. Because the heaviest thing you carry was never a task in the first place. It is the cognitive load of holding two full operating domains in your head at once, the business and the family, and a VA cannot lift that off a to-do list.

This episode is about Weight Shifted inside the Easeful Standard, and the part nobody says loudly enough: your over-functioning is not just costing you. It is shaping who the people you love most are becoming. By the end you will see your own capability differently, and you will have one paper exercise that starts to change it.

    What you'll walk away with:

    • Why your first VA (or your fifth) did not take the real weight off, and what was actually missing before you hired
    • How to spot the over-function and under-function loop running in your house and your business, where every time you pick it up, someone else quietly puts it down
    • What a developmental psychologist's idea of scaffolding has to do with whether your kids, your team, and your partner ever build their own capacity
    • Where you honestly sit on the Weight Shifted scale, from Robbing Them at one end to Watching Them Rise at the other
    • The Put It Down Practice: the three questions that tell you what is yours, what is shared, and what was never yours to hold

    What to listen to next

    • Structure that breathes and doesn't collapse the first time a real Tuesday arrives
    • Hiring your first right hand person without creating more work

  • The Decision You Made in 90 Seconds That's Costing You a Decade
    May 25 2026

There is a decision you've been sitting on. You know the one. It's been on the list for weeks, possibly months, and every time you go to make it, life happens and you make it fast in the gap between everything else, or you don't make it at all. Either way it's costing you, and the cost is bigger than you've let yourself look at.

    What this episode is about

In this episode I'm walking you through the decision I made 18 months ago in my kitchen, in about ninety seconds, with Scarlett asking me about something and my phone in my hand. It wasn't a wrong decision. It was a reasonable one. And it still cost me roughly 14 months of drag in the business, because I'd made a decade-scale decision at Snickers-bar speed with about 40% of the information I actually needed to make it well. The same thing is happening to you right now somewhere, and the reason it doesn't feel dramatic is the whole problem. I'm going to show you the filter I use to stop it happening, and why the women who build something that actually lasts are not the ones working harder. They are the ones who learned to make decisions from the future.

    Key takeaways
    • Why the difference between the woman living in a Picture Perfect business and the woman that’s a Real Deal is almost never effort. It is one specific, learnable filter that nobody taught you.
    • What the Two Horizon Principle is, and how to run any significant decision through both lenses at the same time (not one after the other) before you sign anything, price anything, hire anything, or say yes to anything.
    • The exact question shift that took one of my clients from worrying about putting her rate up from $100 an hour to signing a $34,000 contract. Same woman. Different question.
    • Why the pricing change that gives you the most cash in the next 90 days might also be the one marshmallow decision wearing a cash-improvement mask, and how to tell the difference before you make it.
    • What it looks like to use Decade Decisions not just in the business, but in your marriage, your parenting, and the relationships you want to still be holding ten years from now.

  • Paid Twice: The Standard You Were Never Told You Could Set
    May 18 2026

Your sales have doubled and you are still the woman scanning prices in the supermarket aisle like nothing has changed. You are not crazy I promise, the structure you have built was never designed to pay you. Until someone names that out loud, you keep solving for the wrong problem.

    What this episode is about

This week we are focusing on the Paid Twice accelerator and the Non-Negotiable Profit Philosophy. When you own a business, you wear two hats: the employee doing the work, and the shareholder carrying the risk. Most of the women I work with are getting paid properly for neither when we get started, and the reason is structural, not personal. By the end of this episode, you will know how to tell whether you are undercharging without falling for the worst pricing advice in the industry, which is to look at what everyone else is doing.

    Key takeaways

    • Why doubling your sales did not stop the supermarket aisle fear, and what that is actually telling you about your business
    • The two economic roles you hold right now, and why most women are getting scraps in both
    • The Non-Negotiable Profit Philosophy: profit as a structural fixed cost from day one, not a reward you unlock at the next sales target
    • How to actually tell if you are undercharging, and why looking at the market is the worst possible way to do it
    • The one number Sarah wants you to find this week, and what it unlocks for every conversation that comes after it
