  • You DONT KNOW THEM! Your Client Needs More Than A Caption | The Loud Lens
    Jul 5 2026

Photographers are obsessed with cameras, presets, lighting, Instagram grids and “perfect portfolios”… but most of them have absolutely no clue who they’re actually marketing to.

In this brutally honest episode of The Loud Lens, Khandie breaks down exactly how photographers should be researching their ideal clients, properly. Not the fluffy “create a client avatar” nonsense you hear in business groups.

    We’re talking:

    • How to ACTUALLY identify your ideal photography client
    • How to research people on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit and Pinterest
    • Understanding buying behaviour and emotional triggers
    • Why your branding might be attracting the wrong clients
    • Learning where your clients spend money and time
    • Researching aesthetics, fashion, values and trends
    • How luxury photographers market differently
    • The psychology behind client trust
    • Why photographers fail when they copy other photographers
    • How to become the obvious choice for your audience

This episode is blunt, practical and deeply detailed — perfect for photographers, content creators and creative business owners who want to stop shouting into the void and start attracting the right people.

  • You're Undercharging. Here's Why — And What to Do About It
    Jun 28 2026

Most photography business advice tells you to "know your worth." Nobody tells you why you don't charge it.

In this episode of The Loud Lens, Khandie gets into the four real reasons photographers undercharge — and none of them are as simple as "just put your prices up."

    We're covering:

    — Not knowing your actual costs (and why running a photography business in the UK means you need to)

    — The fear of losing the booking and what it's actually costing you

    — Why pricing against other photographers is one of the worst business decisions you can make

    — Imposter syndrome — why it doesn't go away with experience, and why you can't let it set your rates

This isn't a fluff episode. If you're a UK photographer — freelance, studio-based, wedding, portrait, commercial, or anything in between — and you've ever second-guessed your pricing, apologised for your rates, or quietly wondered if you're actually making any money, this one is for you.

Straightforward. No nonsense. No guru waffle.

  • Would You Call It Art If You Found It On His Phone?
    Jun 24 2026

Over three thousand photographs of women. Taken without their knowledge. Without their consent. Some of them upskirt shots. Started, by his own admission, as a joke to share with mates on WhatsApp.

Then a curator got involved. And a publisher. And Rolling Stone. And a prestigious Milan gallery. And suddenly it was art.

This week, Italian photographer Ray Banhoff resurfaced to talk proudly about Fie, a project he made between 2012 and 2015 (approx). And the internet caught up with what was actually in those photographs.

But this episode isn't a pile-on. Because if we focus only on the man, we let the system off the hook. And the system is where the real story is.

Who decides what's art? Who gets handed the keys to legitimacy, and why? What does it say about our industry that the same photographs found on a stranger's phone would have us calling the police, but put in a gallery get a glowing write-up?

That's what we're getting into today.
