    Apr 23 2026

In a fast-paced, reactive world, the ability to pause may be the most powerful skill we can develop. In this episode of Strategies for Living, David McMillian and Lauren Leon McMillian explore the art and science of self-soothing—practical techniques that help you regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, and respond instead of react.

From the “sacred pause” to simple, effective tools like breathwork, grounding, bilateral stimulation (butterfly tapping), and cognitive reframing, this episode offers accessible strategies you can use anytime, anywhere. You’ll also learn the difference between healthy self-soothing and avoidance behaviors like scrolling or numbing—and why true regulation is about staying present with yourself, not escaping.

    Apr 21 2026

Who do you allow into your life—and why? In this powerful episode of Strategies for Living, we explore the idea that not everyone deserves a seat at your table. Your table represents your energy, your time, your thoughts, and your emotional space—and who you invite in directly shapes your well-being and growth.

Learn how to recognize energy-draining dynamics, set healthy boundaries, and create space for relationships that truly support who you are—and who you’re becoming.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, drained, or misaligned in your relationships, this episode offers a transformative framework to help you reclaim your space and realign your life.

👉 Your life is shaped by who you sit with—so who’s at your table?
