On Sunday we reflected on one of the most personal promises Jesus makes: that we are not left alone. As he prepares his disciples for his departure, Jesus assures them that God will give his Holy Spirit — the Advocate — to be with them and remain in them. In this promise we see the nearness, comfort, and faithfulness of God, who does not abandon his people but comes to them and dwells with them.

As we come to John 14, Jesus meets His disciples in the upper room on the night before the cross and speaks into one of the deepest questions we carry: where are we headed? He offers not a roadmap or a formula, but Himself — the way, the truth, and the life.
