The future has caught up to the Carousel of Progress!

This week, Dawn and I are talking about one of our all-time favorite Disney attractions as it prepares for its biggest update in decades.

With the attraction set to close for a major refurbishment, we wanted to share our honest thoughts before it goes offline. We discuss everything Disney has announced so far, the many questions that still haven’t been answered, and what we’re hoping to see when the attraction returns in 2027.

Will the Sherman Brothers’ classic music remain? Could there be a new narrator? Will Disney update the animatronics, the seating, or even the ride system itself? And as two proud children of the ‘80s, we’re especially hoping Disney gets that decade just right!

Along the way, we take a nostalgic trip through the history of Carousel of Progress, share some of our favorite memories, and talk about why we believe this refurbishment isn’t just about updating an attraction—it’s about creating nostalgia for a whole new generation of Disney fans.
