About this listen
Brian Malarkey is one of the most accomplished chefs and restaurateurs in America. Owner and operator of more than six restaurants, Chef Malarkey also runs his own production company and is the host of the Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen: Knives Out. He has competed on Guy’s Grocery Games, Chopped, Tournament of Champions, and Wildcard Kitchen.
He also recently appeared in the new competition series 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing. Over a few beers with host Pat Shanley at his Little Italy restaurant Herb & Wood, Chef Malarkey discusses his childhood competing in rodeo competitions in Oregon, how he made the leap from running a kitchen to a restaurant empire and what really goes on behind the scenes of TV cooking competitions.
