This week in our How Life Actually Works series, we continued through Proverbs by looking at the power of influence. In Proverbs 1, we saw that wisdom is not just downloaded through information—it is formed through relationships.

We were reminded that who and what we listen to is shaping who we become. What we consume can become what we believe, what is caught is often taught, and all of us carry influence in the lives of others.

The invitation is simple: pay attention to who is shaping you, and pay attention to who you are shaping. Because the goal is not just to avoid bad influence, but to become more like Jesus in the way we love, speak, lead, and live.

This week, we kicked off our summer series in Proverbs by looking at where wisdom begins. In Proverbs 1, we saw that wisdom is more than good advice or helpful sayings—it is a way of life that starts with God.

We were reminded that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” That kind of fear isn’t about running from God, but living with reverence, awe, gratitude, and surrender toward Him. Proverbs teaches us that wisdom is not just information we collect, but formation that shapes how we live, love, work, speak, and make decisions.

The invitation is simple: start with God. Because wisdom doesn’t begin with knowing more—it begins with submitting our lives to the One who knows how life works.

This week in our Created for This series, we explored what it means to live sent. Through Exodus 19, we saw that God calls His people to be bridges, not barriers, helping others connect with Him.

Most people decide what they believe about God after they decide what it’s like to be around His people. Living sent doesn’t require having every answer. It means allowing God’s love to be seen through the way we listen, serve, make room, and show up for others.

The challenge is simple: pray for one, pursue one, and point one person toward Jesus this week. Your willingness to bend your plans could help someone take their next step toward God.
