Welcome back to another Class Chat. In this episode Will is lucky to chat with recent West of Ireland Champion Mark Cadden. Playing out of Roganstown and the Made in Hollywood stable Mark grew up on Oldcastle, Co Meath. He has been playing since a kid but things got serious around 13 when he started working with Geoff Loughrey and his handicap went from 21 to 4. He has had success at underage winning the Ulster Boys in 2023 and followed up in 2024 and 2025 with 4 wins in the Junior Elite Tour. He has also represented Ireland at both U16 and U18 and more recently he represented Ireland in Argentina alongside 2025 West of Ireland Champion Dylan Holmes. Mark also had the great opportunity to travel to TPC Sawgrass to play in the Junior Players last year which is an amazing achievement. Onward to Rosses Point in April of this year and once again it was a battle against the elements and Mark was the best gladiator over the 5 days. Beating strong players along the way including Grand Slam champion Caolan Rafferty, another up coming star in Alex Kerins and in the final a great player in Colm Campbell. Join in this chat as Will and Mark go through everything along the way. A great champion and a wonderful guy. Congratulations Mark and onward to Lahinch for the Walker Cup. Worth a listen.

Hello and welcome back to another Class Chat. In this episode Will catches up with Irish Professional Golfer Paul McBride. From Malahide, Paul grew up playing many sports and had success in schools not only in golf but also in hurling where he won Dublin titles. Deciding to go down the route of golf, Paul played his junior golf in the Island where he learned his links skills. Onward to Wake Forest University in the US, Paul played and roomed with familiar names like Cam Young and Will Zalatoris. He had great success with the Wake Forest team winning a number of times. In 2016 and 2017 Paul played a number of the main European Amateur events trying to maximise his World Golf points in the hope and later success of getting on the Walker Cup team to play in 2017. in 2016 he unfortunately got beaten in the British Amateur semi final by a certain Robert McIntyre. On the Walker Cup, GB&I lost that particular year but Paul managed to bag himself a foursomes point beating his college team mate Zalatoris. Onward to the Pro life and Paul has had some nice top 10s in the years to date including a promising start to 2026 with a podium finish and a top 10 already in the bag. Ill be keeping my fingers crossed that he sees further success and gets himself on the Hotel Planner tour for next season. This was a very enjoyable chat with a super guy. Worth a listen.

  • Class Chats - Chris Selfridge - PGA Tour Caddy and 4 Time Irish Amateur Major Winner
    Mar 31 2026

Welcome back to another Class Chat. In this episode Will catches up with Chris Selfridge who hails from Moyola Park in the North of Ireland. Chris would be well known in the Irish Golf scene having won The East of Ireland and Irish Close in 2012 and then he won the North of Ireland in 2013 and retained his crown in 2014. The future was professional golf and was destined for the European Tour only for injury to strike and derail those plans. It took a couple of years for Chris to finally give up on the dream of playing on the tour but then he found a new direction and started caddying with long time friend Michael Hoey. Fast forward a couple of years and he has now worked with Ryan Fox and Tom McKibbin to name 2 and is currently on the PGA Tour with Matti Schmid. Life has a funny way of getting you to where you want to be. Chris still plays a bit of golf up in Mayola when he gets the chance and in 2024 Moyola Park were crowned All Ireland Barton Shield winners which is right up there with Chris's great achievements. This is a great chat with a super guy. Worth a listen.
