About this listen

A sci fi comedy created by David Reed.

Britannia 2224; someone wants Napoleon Moon dead. And, to be honest, they might be on to something…

200 years in the future, environmental catastrophe has befallen the Earth, leaving the skies and weather systems transformed into a nightmarish maelstrom of rainbow chemicals, and the city of London wiped off the map (opinion remains divided on whether or not this was the best outcome for the country).

The remnant archipelago of Britannia is a divided dystopia. Up above the toxic clouds, carousing playboy billionaire - and hellishly self-obsessed nepo baby - Napoleon Moon (Patterson Joseph) lives the high life as one of the ultra-rich residents of Zenith Prime’s gaudy towers; while in the gutter at the bottom, Cash (Danielle Vitalis) scrapes a living as one of Britannia’s ‘zeroes’. Their two lives collide when they’re forced to embark on a desperate odyssey to reclaim their existence.

Napoleon finds himself a fugitive from the fascistic corporate police, ‘Custody Inc’, led by the shadowy figure of Greyson (Jason Watkins). While for Cash, Napoleon represents the only chance she has to clear her name. Along the way they negotiate with self-proclaimed eco-terrorists, have meet-cutes with meat cubes, avoid billionaire-killing robots, and get lost in fantasy-fulfilling computer worlds. Slowly, Napoleon and Cash’s eyes are opened to the true nature of Cityzen (Katherine Parkinson) – the app that runs everything in Britannia and is slowly losing its mind…

Episode 1:

Cash is having a bad day - first a computer glitch sees her arrested for first degree murder and then she’s nearly hit by a falling man named Napoleon Moon.

Episode 2:

Having lost everything, Napoleon and Cash must deliver a killer robot to eco-terrorists, The Children of London. A killer robot that would ideally remain switched off.

Episode 3:

Napoleon and Cash learn the truth behind Britannia’s synthetic meat substitute, Shamon Shamon. And it’s not pretty.

Episode 4:

The answer to who blew up Napoleon’s house lies hidden in a virtual world. But can he and Cash resist temptation in a land where your every desire comes true?

Episode 5:

Napoleon and Cash part ways as the law finally catches up with them. Is this the end for our fugitives?

Episode 6:

As the end of the world looms, Napoleon and Cash are Britannia’s only hope. Basically, humanity is in big trouble.

I was looking for something new and came across Zeroes, I enjoy Sci-Fi / Comedy so thought it would be worth a go, even better than I expected! Great story, good pacing that got me invested quickly. Brilliant production/cast which made for a really fantastic listen. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this! Full of hilariously quotable moments and depressingly accurate-seeming predictions of the future.

Hilarious, dystopian, and probably a good prediction of the future

Thoroughly enjoyed. Good characters. Great voice acting. Some of the music/ sound effects can be a bit loud on occasion but sit blend with the overall story and delivery style.
