About this listen

They say you should love thy neighbor, but I don't think they meant it the way I want to love mine.

Miles "Rooster" Johnson

As a young single dad with a teaching job, I haven't had much opportunity to date. My son is my entire world, and though I would love to have a partner and someone to count on, the passing years have shown that it's just not in the cards for me. So when the gorgeous lumberjack of a man—the same man that I've had a massive crush on since the moment we became neighbors—suddenly asks me out on a date, I'm completely blindsided. Trent could have anyone he wants. He's charming, flirtatious, and outgoing—the exact opposite of my awkward, anxious self. I don't know what he sees in me. All I know for sure is that I absolutely need to make this date go well.

Trent Montgomery

I know I have a playboy reputation in our small town, but there's nothing wrong with playing the field. It's worked for me so far, even if I have felt some discontent lately. My mama thinks I need to settle down and find someone nice. But she doesn't understand that I'm just not ready. No matter how beautiful and tempting my neighbor Rooster is or how eager I am to get the silent mountain of a man to open up—no matter how adorable his little boy is, even when he's threatening me at bat-point to take his daddy out on a date—I know I can't be everything that they need. I agreed to ask Rooster out, but I think maybe I made a big mistake. All I know for sure is that I absolutely need to sabotage this date.

You Can Count On Me is a standalone slow-burn holiday MM romance with high heat, an HEA, and no cliffhangers. With a blossoming friends-to-lovers romance between a single father and his adorably flirty neighbor, together these two are warm, young, and tooth-achingly sweet. If you like funny stories with too many dad jokes, holiday magic, positive mental health rep, primal play, graphic steam, and the slowest, sweetest of all burns, then listen on!

I was surprised at which narrator was which character at first, but I loved both interpretations by the end of the book. I absolutely love the storyline, Fae Quin spins the most wonderful storylines of love between characters.

4.5⭐️ overall this was a very cute holiday-vibes romance. While I don’t think I’m as *obsessed* with it as I was book one, the way Trent was so heart eyes for Miles and also protective and loving towards Miles’ son Bubba was so sweet.

I first read this book when it came out last year, and I really enjoyed listening to it again this year! I actually thought the narrators would be doing the opposite characters but I shouldn’t have been surprised because Stephen’s southern accent for Miles was perfect, and Liam did a great job as Trent!

And y’all when I say the burn was slow I mean it! But it definitely pays off.

There were also a lot of humorous moments that were fun tidbits for plot building reasons, which are even easier to see after now having read book 3.

Even better on audio!

Bubba is right, everyone does ship Triles 🫶

I loved book 1 of this series, but wow, book 2 just became my favourite. Trent and Miles are so perfect together, and I just adore Bubba; this kid is so sweet and funny, and him with his bat is hilarious!

Stephen Dexter and Liam DiCosimo are fantastic delivering the narration. Their performances made me laugh, cry, swoon, and totally fall in love with this story. I honestly can't wait for more from this series, though it'll be hard to top Triles and Bubba 😍🫶

How can these books get sweeter and sweeter? I swear I thought the first one was cuteness overload, but Trent and Miles barged into my heart and now I can't choose. This series is so sweet, cute and wholesome... I can't. 💖 I can't wait to see what Ben and Robin have in store for us.

The narrators are amazing and they did a superb job. Highly recommend listening to the audiobook for the full experience. I can't wait for the next audiobook in the series to be out.
