I came to Willow Bend, Wyoming with nothing but the clothes on my back and a secret.

It won’t be easy hiding morning sickness and swinging emotions as the live-in chef for a wealthy tech genius, but I’ll do whatever it takes to build a life for myself and my baby.

Because I’m in this alone.

For weeks I hold my breath, waiting for the moment I come face to face with the reclusive Titus Bradshaw and have to explain my… condition.

But when our paths finally cross late one night, I discover why he’s hidden away from the world.

His scars are deep and far-reaching. A reminder of what he lost. Who he couldn’t save.

I know I should keep my distance, but Titus’s calm demeanor and steady presence draw me in. Make me want things I can’t have. Wish for a life that won’t be mine.

Because my future and his past are incompatible.

He’s been through enough. I won’t make him suffer any more.

But someone else might. Someone who’s keeping a secret of their own.

And they’ll kill to protect it.

Both narrators did a phenomenal job with both characters and the story. I literally sobbed at the start of this.

This is such a sweet romance on healing from trauma and loss. Our MMC Titus is the biggest green flag man I've ever read. Our FMC Mariah is so kind and nurturing.

I really enjoyed this romance along with the found family , I honestly swooned at points 🧡

This was my first time reading this author, and I had such a great experience with this book. As the first installment in a brand-new series, it introduces the Bradshaw Brothers through Titus — a reclusive, emotionally wounded billionaire who has spent the last decade shutting himself away from both the outside world and, to some extent, his own family — and Mariah, who is trying to rebuild her life yet again after discovering she’s unexpectedly pregnant, only for the baby’s father to deny responsibility and walk away without hesitation.

I’ll be keeping this review fairly vague to avoid spoiling anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style. It felt intimate and quietly immersive, drawing me into Titus and Mariah’s relationship as it slowly developed. Themes of safety, healing, resilience, understanding, and choice were woven beautifully throughout the story. Both main characters felt realistic, likeable, and easy to connect with. I especially appreciated the lack of unnecessary drama or frustrating misunderstandings between them. For the most part, they communicated effectively, which was incredibly refreshing to read. Their chemistry worked well, and while there was spice included, it never overshadowed the emotional core of the story.

I also think this is a strong example of the “not his baby” trope done well. It delivered some of the elements I personally look for in these stories — particularly the moments that help build emotional connection between the MMC and the pregnancy, such as attending appointments and being involved throughout the process. I do wish we’d gotten to see more of the pregnancy journey on page, though, as the epilogue time jump meant we missed a large portion of it. That’s purely personal preference, however.

There was also a subtle suspense element introduced, and it definitely felt like groundwork was being laid for an overarching series plot that could carry through future books and potentially create conflict later on.

The audiobook was narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Austin Stone, and both performances were absolutely spot on for these characters. They brought so much emotion and personality to Mariah and Titus, and I genuinely enjoyed every second of listening to this story unfold.

Overall, this was a fantastic introduction to a new-to-me author. I’ll definitely be continuing with this series and checking out more from their backlist when the mood strikes.
