This was an excellent story with a good twist at the end. The author has clearly taken some real life events and imagined a story around them which worked for this book. I thought the character development was good and thoroughly enjoyed the whole story. The only downside was that I found the narrator with her odd verbal emphasise slightly annoying but that just might be me. Overall, I found the whole book engaging, well written and I would recommend it.

First time I listen to a Val McDermid book. Thought it would be more thrilling bits... Narrator was rather good, not the best but fully acceptable. But it was a entertaining book.

Gripping with many twists; however I felt really let down by how far fetched some of the plot was and especially how unrealistic the ending was - just not in keeping with the character and left more questions than answers. I felt really let down by the time I had invested in this story.

I was unsure at the start , not readily able to relate to the main characters reaction to events ......boy oh boy I'm pleased I persevered ! twists , turns and relatable characters, very enjoyable !

stick with it !!! by chapter 2 you'll be hooked

I really enjoyed the way that the story was told and I felt really invested in their lives. I did guess the end but only because I've read so many of these types of book. definitely recommend!
