We finished the first book a few weeks ago and my son had been asking when the next one was coming so I was relieved when I found this. He is ten and has just started taking on more responsibility at school and I wanted something that would help him think about what it actually means to lead rather than just be in charge. The Nelson Mandela story stopped us both in our tracks. The idea of choosing to heal instead of retaliate is not something I had ever really explained to him in a way that stuck and hearing it through a story did something a lecture never could. What I appreciate about this series is that it never makes leadership sound like something only special people are born with. It comes across as a choice anyone can make. He has been noticeably more patient with his younger sister since we started listening which may be a coincidence but I am choosing to credit this. Absolutely worth it if your kids loved the first book or if you are just starting here.
