Exeter, 1195. Renovations at the new school in Smythen Street are disrupted by the discovery of a partially mummified corpse - and Sir John de Wolfe, the county coroner is called to investigate. Well written and well read. This has been a most enjoyable experience. The setting and historical detail are most interesting and the characters well drawn.
I will be buying the other book by this author and narrator.

I love the Croner John stories as they not only provide an enjoyable "Who Dunnit" they give a brilliant insight of life in the 12th Century.
Once again though why is it that audible.co.uk never make books of a series available in chronological order or for that matter as a complete series. Out of the dozen or so in this series they have only listed books 4 & 5.

I really enjoyed this book.
It was interesting and contained many historical facts I didn’t know regarding ancient law . I have walked the streets and lanes mentioned in the book whilst listening and have really felt part of the story. Thank you Mr Knight for setting a really good murder mystery here in Devon !! More please!!!!
