I’ve never read (listened) to any of Lynda La Planet’s books before, but this was on offer. It was an absolutely brilliant book and I couldn’t stop listening. I’ve already popped The Governor Part 2 into the wish list! Whilst the accents go a bit off at times, it doesn’t massively impact the story and overall, Price-Lewis, performance is excellent!!! Definitely recommend.

Having been aware and watched some of Lynda La Plantes’ books as TV adaptations I’ve never actually listened to or read a Lynda La Plante book before so it was with a little trepidation that I decided to give this one a go. I wasn’t disappointed. A thoroughly enjoyable listen. The storyline was substantial and the narrator was pretty good. Certainly makes you think about what life can be life from the viewpoint of prison staff and the incarcerated. I would recommend this book, it’s worth the credit.

This book, so I have to say I totally have a bit of a girl crush on the leading lady. Helen Hewett takes on a new role and my god is she the right woman for the job. The team of prison officers arnt keen when a newbie gets promoted over and above their friend and colleague. The don’t like her ideas, beliefs or rules. They want her to fall. If ever I needed some girl power inspiration, this was the book. I can’t wait to start the second in the series. Thank you audible for recommending it to me.
