Forbidden to leave her island, Isabella dreams of the faraway lands her cartographer father once mapped. When her best friend disappears, she's determined to be part of the search party.

Guided by an ancient map and her knowledge of the stars, Isabella navigates the island's dangerous Forgotten Territories. But beneath the dry rivers and dead forests, a fiery myth is stirring from its sleep.

Not my usual genre but I did enjoy it. Vivid descriptions and beautiful writing I could imagine myself there on the island.

Lovely story

It has a nice fairytale lyrical style. A book that is also suitable for adults looking for magical stories (which is what we are). The narration was ok but grated a bit by the end and might have made it hard to warm to Lupe, even though we wanted to. Also the ending didn't feel congruent - a bit of a weird anticlimax.

Original but didn't like the ending

I really enjoyed listening to this. It was narrated really well. And a great storyline!

A good listen!

The barrage of 5 star superlative full reviews feel written by publisher marketeers. It’s OK, but not earth shattering. The narrator felt more like a reader than an actor, her slightly posh voice strangely rooting a story from a far away land into the British Home Counties.

Average, over-rated book
