About this listen

The brilliant new audiobook from Jenny Blackhurst, the number one ebook best-selling author of How I Lost You, which Clare Mackintosh called 'utterly gripping', and Before I Let You In.

If you love Louise Jensen's The Gift or SK Tremayne's The Ice Twins, you will love this.

When child psychologist Imogen Reid takes on the case of 11-year-old Ellie Atkinson, she refuses to listen to warnings that the girl is dangerous.

Ellie was the only survivor of a fire that killed her family. Imogen is convinced she's just a sad and angry child struggling to cope with her loss. But Ellie's foster parents and teachers are starting to fear her. When she gets upset, bad things seem to happen. And as Imogen gets closer to Ellie, she may be putting herself in danger....

Whilst I realised whodunnit midway in, the twist did catch me out! I never mind that, I really enjoyed it. Good story telling and great narration from Lisa Coleman as always. Highly recommended.

A really cracking story

I was so sceptical as to where this was going, but it ended up being brilliant and logical conclusion. You can see where it's going, not how it gets there is a wild ride. I really enjoyed it!

fantastic!

As an ex foster of 8 years, I don’t know quite what to think of this book. Yes, It was gripping, shocking and entertaining, but made me feel quite uncomfortable about the stereotype of these children and I’m not comfortable with the demonising of foster children. They have a hard enough time as it is being placed somewhere strange and unfamiliar, on top of upset and/or trauma. They are difficult sometimes and they do act out (understandably) but don’t think it’s helpful to portray them as they are in this book.

Not quite sure what to think?!

enjoyed the storyline but the narrator repeatedly got characters name's wrong (called Mary, Naomi at least twice, did no one pick this up before it got released.)

I should have taken heed of the previous reviews. The main character is unlikeable and unbelievable and there plot is weak.

Don’t waste your time.

Unbelievable
