Slave Girls, a new series by bestselling author Louise Allen, reveals a shocking modern-day scandal of County Lines–the single most dangerous form of systematic child abuse prevalent today.

Charlotte—The Cutting Girl—comes from a family of high achievers. Her father is a politician, and her mother is a senior medical officer.

When she moves from her prestigious boarding school she is groomed by a girl two years her senior, spiralling into a cycle of drugs, self-harm, and sexual abuse.

When she goes missing, five other girls do, too. A nationwide media campaign sets out to track them down, but can Charlotte ever escape the gang behind the abduction and abuse?

An incredible, insightful and heart wrenching book. Who knew it wasn’t just socially and economically deprived children at risk of exploitation. Money can get you many things but it can’t buy safety when a parent does not parent.

Incredible

This was for me, a difficult listen.

As the story unfolds it is absolutely heartbreaking to hear how happy go lucky children are recruited, used, and disposed of - and this happens in every city.

That said, the story was beautifully read, and evoked such emotion, it makes me fear for future generations.

Louise has done an incredible job of raising awareness, but it’s hard to stomach that this type of operation is live and working in today’s society- regardless of gender, race, background or upbringing.

Heartbreaking

Couldn’t stop listening, educating and eye opening, beautifully written and narrated. Didn’t want it to end

Gripping

This is by far Louise’s best book.
The story telling is compelling and you feel Charlotte’s anguish within the narration.
As a fellow foster carer I feel Louise’s other books can have a bit of a ‘hero complex’ but that doesn’t happen within this book and it’s truly a great read
I hope all future foster carers, professionals working with children and law enforcement listen to stories like Charlotte’s

Louise’s best book!

Beautifully narrated and read, this story is absolutely shocking and really opens your eyes to what goes on and how money and “class” mean you can be exploited horrifically. Looking forward to the next two in this series. Really enjoyed

Real eye opener!!
