With his ascension to demon lord and the reawakening of Veldora, Rimiru has upset the balance of power and is being seen as a threat by many to the established order. Among these is the Western Holy Church which has as a central tenet that it doesn't abide the existence of monsters.
The leader of the crusader knights is Hinata Sakaguchi who was last seen making an unprovoked attack on Rimiru, which he survived by the skin of his teeth, waylaying him as the catastrophe on his town unfolded.
She is now being pushed into a final battle with him by malevolent forces manipulating events from behind the scenes all while Rimiru's own plans to resolve the war with Falmuth definitively are being disrupted. His town now has two simultaneous threats to deal with and splitting the forces could have devastating consequences for those fighting.
This is another exciting entry into the series expertly performed with the usual humour and drama the story demands.
