Thank you. I am beholden. Will re-listen a couple more times. It's been such a joy to have Chlöe Pierre's voice accompany me on my drive to and from work. So much in this book resonates yet I will need time to digest what has been shared; the quotes, stats, references, history, real-life experiences, recommendations, encouragement...

All in all I have deeply appreciated every single word, syllable, pause and explanation - food for my Carib-African-British-European soul. At a crucial time in my life. Thank you again.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading :Taking Care. There were a few sections that weren’t particularly relevant to me personally, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I actually think I’d enjoy it even more the second time around, as my first read was mainly to get through the book and understand its overall message. On a second read, I’d probably take more time to reflect on the ideas and get even more from it.

The structure of the book was excellent, and the chapters flowed really well. It was easy to follow, well organised, and thoughtfully put together. I had no issues with the layout or the writing style, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone interested in personal growth and self-care.

I thoroughly enjoyed how this book started off by sharing the ways wellness touch our lives, and more specifically the lives of Black women. What kept me reading is how Chloe highlighted what wellness is associated with rather than focusing on its umbrella definition. Only on chapter one but I can tell this will be a non-overwhelming, exciting but also relaxing read. Get it if you can !!

Eye-opening

This book is a must read for everyone, not just black women. It gives a thorough explanation of black women’s lives in a holistic way. Intellectually and sensitively written. Very insightful.
