I loved the premise of this story, and the execution of it, however I found the ending rather unsatisfactory. It’s very enjoyable, and a good listen.

Great premise, could have been better

Enjoyed the main characters and others as I am one of those who can't listen or read if the main characters I can't take to or grate on me. Overall the story was worth listening to.

Enjoyable

The read is very slow and steady as is the tale. The story almost felt like more about everyone else with the protagonists as the filler. I did enjoy it but I felt more could have been made of Avery and Anna’s courtship. Their wedding so quickly felt forced. So much lost opportunity. Also the repetition of events through different characters eyes and Anna’s letters was tedious in the extreme.

The characters

There’s not a lot to get excited about. Dreary at times and quite basic plot. Passes the time.

Meh. Quite dull story
