Now in development as a feature film with Amazon MGM Studios, with John Wick screenwriter Derek Kolstad attached to write the script!

Shield of Sparrows is a slow-burn, high-stakes romantasy perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Rebecca Yarros—where enemies become lovers, monsters stalk a cursed realm, and a forgotten princess finds the strength to tear off her crown and become the warrior she was never meant to be.

The gods sent monsters to the five kingdoms to remind mortals they must kneel.

I've spent my life kneeling—to their will and to my father's. As a princess, my only duty is to wear the crown and obey the king.

I was never meant to rule. Never meant to fight. And I was never supposed to be the daughter who sealed an ancient treaty with her own blood.

But that changed the fateful day I stepped into my father's throne room. The day a legendary monster hunter sailed to our shores. The day a prince ruined my life.

Now I'm crossing treacherous lands beside a warrior who despises me as much as I despise him—bound to a future I didn't choose and a husband I barely know.

Everyone wants me to be something I'm not—a queen, a spy, a sacrifice.

But what if I refused the role chosen for me? What if I made my own rules? What if there's power in being underestimated?

And what if—for the first time—I reached for it?

Contains mature themes.

Enjoyable story- manages to be fairly unique.
The female narrator was really good but their was a big issue with the male narrator - particularly for Xavier -the volume was too low compared to the volume of the female narrator. This meant that it was hard to hear the male narrator and if you adjust the volume louder to hear, it then makes the female narrator too loud- so the volumes are not aligned - rather disappointing !
It was also a bit weird how the male narrator voice at the end - for a character - also changes!
You can still listen but it does impact the quality of the listen.

Fairly enjoyable listen - with an interesting plot- let down by narrator male volume

The female narrator was great, I think she was doing the male voice too throughout the female chapters - if so it’s very clear it’s the male speaking but it’s very nasally. Why don’t audiobooks have actors just read the male lines too rather than just the male POV chapter

Great story

This Book was easy to get into, has a great plot that you think you know but the writer constantly has you second guessing yourself. The final few chapters had me gripped. Can't wait for the next one.

Loved the Plot

I really enjoyed both the storyline and the characters. It was both an intriguing story but with a lot of smiles and chuckles a long the way. The only minus for me was, that the 'male'-voice were really low, like volume-wise low, which I haven't had any issues with before. So there was a lot of turning up and down in the volume in order to hear the dialogue properly.

Was hooked from start to finish
