What a good story and to think it was all true is unbelievable what that girl went through and to come out the other side is a tribute to her iron will .

It sickens me to know that this is still happening and the authorities turn a blind eye - so many opportunities to be freed but no-one dare help

This was extremely difficult to read and listen to. I must say it is one of the most detailed books I've ever read it's just heartbreaking. it's a shame she did not feel confident to press charges and take back her children. however I am not here to judge. I hope now she is finding happiness and peace. God bless you Anna

I’ve just finished this book & wow, I’m almost speechless!! What a book!! This book had me gripped from the very beginning, the narration is fantastic & the writing even better......what a woman Anna is! How she survived such a 13 year ordeal is unbelievable & to share her story with the world is so brave. This book is not for the feint hearted, there are parts that had me crying, gasping, cringing & stopping the book with the sheer shock & horror of what I was listening to (& the knowledge that this actually happened to a real life person)
Anna is so strong & I’m glad there was a happy ending for her (albeit a working progress). She was let down by nearly every single person in her life including authorities, & not just once but time & time again! It’s a disgrace & this book will definitely have me taking a second look at situations that don’t seem “right” in some way! Thank you Anna for sharing your story, you think you aren’t strong enough to bring that man to justice but you are! To survive that captivity & depravity proves how strong you really are!!
