This is a FANTASTIC story and really captures how life and war was in the Italian Alps and how the partizans really helped with the effort of creating a soft underbelly off the Nazi war machine. I have listen to DL before and was fantastic, again he is great, but and this a big but the sound quality is not so good, as it cuts in and out occasionally... im guessing this a bad edit? If this can me amended this would be 5 stars. I dont like taking a star off but there does need a quality control. the story is 5stars however.

The story of tremendous bravery and daring, but sadly the story is tainted by the vindictive behaviour of his superiors.

Being ex-military I found this less well-known story to be very moving. It is not just ‘blood and guts’ but a deep and thoughtful account of people in challenging times.
