About this listen

Edgewood threatens to chew me up and spit me out.

Since moving to town, my life has been turned on its axis. Everything I thought I knew is a lie, and even as secrets are revealed, more questions arise.

I’ve been forced into a ruthless game—one with deadly consequences in order to take care of my siblings in my parents’ absence. A game that has the Queen Bee of the school out for my blood because the heirs of the school are fighting to win me over.

The question is, are their motives pure, or will I be on the receiving end of a Ruthless Rejection?

Ruthless Rejection is book two in the Edgewood Academy Elite Series. It is a slow burn why choose dark high school bully romance. Meaning the main character will end up with more than one love interest. As the series progresses, so will the level of darkness.

It is an 18+ series with profanity, a feisty heroine, bullying, and obsessive and possessive themes.

I read the book on release but despite knowing the twists and turns I was sucked straight back in to the world of Edgewood and it still kept me on the edge of my seat. Secret society is one my all time favourite tropes and this series is just so good! I love Ariah - she puts up with so much and still manages to come back stronger. There are some really brutal moments in this and Bridget Bordeaux's performance had me knocked for six during the scenes in the basement in particular.

Bordeaux is also one of my favourite whiny narrators; I always love her take on the shrill mean girls and her performance as Sam is no exception. Sam is definitely a villain you will love to hate; she is just so vile and gives a whole other meaning to the word delusional. Sam is not the only one playing a game though as several people have their own plans and Ariah is at the centre of it all. This is such a wild ride and Ariah's relationship with the heirs is also smouldering in the background as they continue with the selection process. I'm a Wes girl at heart but I have a soft spot for Wyatt and his unhinged ways. He was the one my heart really broke for at that ending and I am so ready to return for book three!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

What a ride!
