Wine influencer turned accidental sleuth Francine Witt heads to New York’s most exclusive gala expecting glamour, gossip, and good champagne. Instead, she finds a perfectly curated family tableau with one glaring flaw: someone is missing.

As whispers spread about a figure erased from the Moncrief legacy, the dynasty’s polished façade starts to unravel. Accidents turn deadly, and anyone who gets too close to the truth is quickly silenced.

With her intuitive partner Rosalind at her side—and a sceptical NYPD detective watching closely—Francine digs into a world of privilege, power, and carefully crafted lies. From Capote-style high society to the shadows of a family secret, nothing is quite what it seems.

To expose the truth at the heart of the Moncrief empire, Francine must risk her reputation, her friendships, and perhaps her heart.

Witty, feminist, and irresistibly sharp, Poured Out uncorks a sparkling new instalment in the Francine Witt Mystery series. Dorothy Parker’s ghost would surely raise a glass, then cut the whole affair to ribbons.

I don’t usually listen to audiobooks but this one sounded interesting so I thought I’d give it a listen. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The narrator had an English accent which threw me off at first but then I actually enjoyed it. I only had 2 problems with this book. First was I didn’t know this was the 3rd book in the series so I got confused by some things (and characters) that were mentioned in this book. I guess I am just going to have to go back and read (or listen) to the first 2 books. Darn :) the other problem was I was trying to do laundry and other chores around the house and found myself taking longer to do the chores because I kept stopping what I was doing just to listen to what was happening. Other than that I really enjoy the book. I look forward to reading or listening to more of this series.

Good listen

Francine Witt, our favorite detective who's already got a bit of Miss Marple's wisdom and Dorothy Parker's wit, is back in another comedic adventure as she finds herself in the rather cutthroat world of social media influencers as she tries to solve what seems like a routine family drama.

Another Hilarious (and Taut) Francine Witt Episode

Francine Witt has come a long way from writing tasting notes on a laptop in her kitchen. Now a bestselling author, she's swapped the comment section for a candlelit banquet table, invited by one of those old-money families who make everything look effortless and explain nothing. It's exactly the kind of setting Francine doesn't quite trust, and honestly? Neither do we.

What Exeter does well here is keep the tension simmering without ever boiling over too fast. There's something genuinely unsettling about a family that's too polished, too rehearsed, and Francine's instincts pick up on every crack in the veneer. She's not the kind of protagonist who trips into danger. She walks toward it with her eyes open, wine glass in hand.
