I can't think of anything better to listen to on a Tuesday morning before going to work.
This short story managed in 34 minutes to denounce patriarchy and systemic problems, while telling us a beautiful tale served with a side of female rage.
The background romance is beautiful and comes full circle with the theme of the book.
I love this story very much, and I can't wait to dive more into Storm Lomax's work.

Lucky enough to be chosen to give this audiobook a listen by the author herself. I loved this short story. Engaging plot which is hard to do with a short story, and the ending tugged my heart strings. The narration was good, the narrators soft voice giving life to the FMC, and making her threatening and funny all at once. A few pronunciation errors but nothing to mask the story at all. I really enjoyed myself, Storm... I shall be back for more!

It was a very nice story. Short but felt complete. Perfect if you want to read on your break or like a short journey if you listen in your car.
It was beautifully written and satisfying. It could have been longer because we get really into it. It was a bit confusing at first but you get hooked and really quickly into it. I liked the little twists and ending!

This was a deliciously gothic tale of demonic devotion. The lush prose captivated me from the start, the writing was stunning, with vivid imagery that immersed me into the story setting. Varenya's love story was beautiful, her queendom well deserved, and i loved that it all came full circle in the end with her love lasting beyond lifetimes. A beautiful short story!
