Summary

When Lucy's parents are killed in a train crash, her kindly uncle steps in to look after the little girl - to the initial apprehension of his wife and her son. Where does No Place for a Woman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

No Place for a Woman is one of the best books which I have enjoyed as Lucy's story opened up to me a time of history in the city of Hull and showed to me how the class system could rule.

What other book might you compare No Place for a Woman to, and why?

No Place for a Woman is for me a wonderful work of historical fiction, with its warm characters and their love for each other reminded me of Ellie Dean's series yet it was based on the earlier years of British history.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

where Lucy finally realises she simply wanted to follow in the steps of her Father and this led to her finally getting to know who her parents were and her own family's history.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

a heartwarming story of one woman who showed her bravery by simply being where it mattered..

this is a wonderful book which though slow to start but the basis of the story had to be told for the real story to begin!
