The much-anticipated return of the hit Audible Original Mistletoe Murders series, featuring Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) reprising her role as cozy crimefighter and year-round Christmas store owner Emily Lane in Mistletoe Murders 4.

Coming from Canadian Screen Award winner Ken Cuperus, with Ginny & Georgia’s Raymond Ablack plus a stellar ensemble cast featuring Kylee Evans (The Good Witch) and Jean Yoon (Kim’s Convenience), this new season of the Audible Original will help you get in the festive spirit this holiday season.

When Emily Lane isn’t busy running her charming Christmas-themed store ‘’Under the Mistletoe,‘’ located in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove, she finds herself compelled to investigate not-so-quaint local murders. This season finds Emily returning to Fletcher’s Grove after a long absence and reacquainting herself with the town, her ex, Sam, Sam’s new girlfriend, and of course, murder. But it’s not so easy to slip back into the life she left a year ago—especially when another person from Emily’s past arrives in town under mysterious circumstances. Is it a coincidence, or is someone pulling the strings to target Emily—and if so, what’s their endgame?

The Mistletoe Murders Audible Original series inspired the hit Hallmark adaptation of the same name starring Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney, currently in its second season.

Available in Dolby Atmos on Audible.

As always it was a great listen. It always goes too quick and wish there were more episodes each season. Im really hoping that season 5 would come soon and hope not to wait another year for it.

Amazing!

A bit far fetched as how Emily seems to have none lives (same as her cats) when it comes to physical injuries!

Engaging

A very enjoyable listen. I got lost in the story to the point that I felt like a part of the story.

Fantastic!

I was waiting for new episodes forever. I love that there is more. The duo of Cobie Smulders and Ken Ablack is perfect! The stories are fine, but these two voices are what makes me want more and more. I missed Anna Cathcart. I am so happy there is a spin-off with her. I feel all buzzed-up. This is what they are supposed to refer to when they say "cosy crime story".

Another fantastic installment

This season felt a little off. Violet is gone, away at university (and her own spin-off show), and Emily returns to Fletcher's Grove after an absence of 11 months (due to what happened at the end of Season 3). Sam Wilner, the local cop and love interest, has moved on. So the dynamic that made the first 3 seasons so engaging is completely missing. Spencer arrives on the scene, and he eventually gets a job in Emily's shop, but at one point, Emily says, "Spencer is no Violet," and I almost said out loud, "You can say that again!"

The second story was particularly frustrating. I'd give that 2 stars. The murderer doesn't appear until 10 minutes before the end of the 2nd episode. This is completely unfair to the listener. Over 3 seasons, they established a pattern where the murderer is introduced in the first episode of each two-part story, and we can try to figure out who it was. In my review of the first 3 seasons, I said that there was no character growth and very often he plot relied on Emily not telling Sam or Violet where she was going or what she was doing. That's still true, for the most part.

This series is still very enjoyable and I'm sure you'll love it if you look past those small niggles.
