A full-cast holiday romance extravaganza performed in duet by Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin, and with a full cast of your favorite narrators including including Carlotta Brentan, Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke, Adam Gold, Teddy Hamilton, JF Harding, Erin Mallon, Soneela Nankani, and Evan Parker.

Wanted: A fresh shot at love for the holidays. But fake dating my brother’s grumpy best friend? He’s my new client, for Santa’s sake!

As a professional matchmaker, my biggest job this holiday season should be simple: find a date for the sexy single dad hockey player—aka my brother’s best friend—for his team’s fancy Christmas Eve gala. Sure Rowan’s hot as a crackling fire and spicier than a gingerbread man, but he hasn’t just sworn off romance. The Christmas hater has made a bet that I can’t find him a holidate.

What’s a matchmaker to do?

Win, of course. Even if it means fake dating the grinch myself to get him ready for the real thing.

Only…these fake dates at Christmas tree farms and hot cocoa competitions in the snowy small town of Evergreen Falls start to feel a little too real as I get to know the man behind the scowl. Somewhere between kisses under the mistletoe and a snowed-in night in his cabin curled up by the fire (where the stockings aren’t the only thing hung), I realize I’m in over my elf-loving head.

And when Rowan opens up to me at last about his painful past, I’m determined to give my brother’s best friend the holiday he deserves.

But what if the only gift I want him to unwrap this season is… me?

Tropes: Holiday romance, brother’s best friend, fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, small town, Christmas competition, matchmaker romance, workplace romance, hockey romance

Single dad, hockey romance is one of my favourite tropes, add in small town and fake dating and I’m in book heaven. I even like the ‘Mr Grumpy’ aspect, because lets face it, single dad (and hockey stud), Rowan, has all the makings of the Grinch with his attitude to anything to do with Christmas. Even his adorable daughter Mia cannot sway him to Christmas cheer. But when his team mates organise a matchmaker for him, not just any matchmaker, but his best friends sister, and his secret crush, you know things are going to go sideways. And they do. In the best possible way. Lots of humour in and amongst the sexy time in this entertaining holiday romcom. But when things go sideways, as they often do, especially when children are involved, Rowan has no choice but to pull out all the stops to win his girl. Go big or go home - that’s his motto. A full cast narrating, including Vanessa Edwin (Isla) and Connor Crais (Rowan), along with Carlotta Brendan, Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke, Adam Gold, Teddy Hamilton, F Harding, Erin Mallon, Soneela Nankani and Evan Parker. I received an advanced copy of the audio book. This is my honest review.

I love a good fake dating romance

Really good

i love the way it's narrated. i like this more commonly used way of having multiple narrators, it really adds to the audio experience. my only slight gripe would be that the woman playing mia's part really did sound about 50 years older than the child was in the story. i really liked the storyline and the aim of the matchmaking/dating thing. for me rowan was a little overdone in the grumpy stakes and seemed to change a little too easily/quickly. isla was lovely, but how many times did we need to hear the phrase "my stomach flipped", very over used. and for me, the book was a little too long for the story it was telling, just over 13 hours, i think the story would have been more gripping if 2 or 3 hours had been knocked off it. it just seemed to turn from a good storyline to, how many times in how many different locations can we get intimate. it just got a little predictable for me. found myself skipping 5 minutes here and there in the last 3 hours, just to get it finished, and i'm used to listening to books of 15 hours plus. :)

good but can't give it 5 stars
