I left the big city I loved and tomorrow, I start work as the only cardiothoracic surgeon at a small regional hospital. My kids are off with my ex-husband and his new man, and tonight, I'm free, alone, and determined to make the best of it. Well, apparently this is a short story that helps us understand where Quinton and Leo start. I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of Leo after what he did to Gideon, but... I will give him a chance. I hope he redeems himself.

This short story is basically a prequel to "Quinton's Quest" that will be released soon. I don't think it is mandatory to read/listen to this one in order to read QQ, but I think it is a nice addition and will give you a bit of context.

It was a spicy short story that you can listen to, and for more context about Gideon and what Leo is talking about you can read "Gideon's Gratitude" as well.

Overall a nice audiobook/short story. I also like the narrator. I do recommend.

If you've read Gideons book than you will know his ex husband Leo. I actually would have preferred to have read this book first because Leo was such a badly portrayed chatacter in Gideons book that it really had me not liking him going into this book.

Just like Rayne Check was a prequel to Raynes Return and Archers Awakening was a prequel to Gideons Gratitude, this book is a prequel to this couples coming story.

This is super short and full of steam. An anonymous hookup at a gay bar that ends badly by Leos not so charming personality. Despite Leo not doing anything in this to redeem himself, I loved Quuntin and am still really intrigued to read Leos book and see how he will ever grovel his way back into Quintins good graces. Especially cause they were hot together when they weren't fighting.

I love this little community the author has portrayed and we are also introduced to a side character, a bartender named Mark and I am very interested in his story.

MD did an amazing narration as always. His voice is a pleasure to listen to. Like always he kept a great pace, expressed all the emotions wonderfully, gave all the characters including the side characters their own distinct voice that suited each of them perfectly and he brought the story to life.

This was a fun and seriously hot first time, hook-up gone-from-good-to-bad, quick listen. I enjoyed meeting Quentin and seeing Leo again. Leo appears briefly as Gideon’s ex-husband in the full-length novel Gideon’s Gratitude. Leo was pictured pretty badly in GG, so it was nice to get a glimpse of the world from his POV. The premise of the story is straightforward. Leo goes to a gay bar after quitting his job and moving to Mission City to facilitate shared custody of his kids with his ex-husband. He meets a hot guy (Quentin), they have hot sex, and things are going great...until Leo puts his foot in his mouth in a big way, and Quinton stalks away. This is a short story that I hope will lead into a full-length book about Leo and Quentin.

The narration suited the story and did a good job differentiating Leo’s inner thoughts from his spoken words.

This is an audiobook review.

Another great addition to the Mission City shorts.
We meet Leo, a man struggling in the aftermath of his divorce.
He's a very opinionated surgeon who tends to get off on the wrong foot with people.
Quinton is a fabulous nurse known for throwing outrageous parties.
They hookup at one of these parties and the book is left open ended because they're getting their story soon.
Michael Dean did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.
