I was so interested and excited to purchase this audio book. We had an exchange student from Japan that lived with us for 6 months. When she came to the states, she could barely speak any english and was basically fluent when she left after 1 year. We still keep in touch and we always communicate in English. I decided that this would be an amazing opportunity to learn her language and have a conversation with her in Japanese. There are 3 books in 1, but you can focus on the book that is relevant to the area that you will be traveling to and/or who you will be communicating with. Languages are not something that comes easy to me, but this book is wonderful and I know if I just keep listening, I will get a few phrases down and be able to speak to our Japanese daughter.

I just finished "The Complete Learn Japanese for Adults Beginners Book (3 in 1): Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji" and found it fantastic. Starting with everyday terms made the learning process engaging and practical. I already knew how to count to ten in Japanese, but hearing the pronunciation differences was fascinating. This audiobook was better than the Rosetta Stone course I have. Highly recommend for anyone beginning their Japanese language journey.

I’ve always found Japanese intimidating, especially with all the different variants. But this method breaks everything down so simply that it actually feels doable. The first book really eases you in with lessons that cover the basics of Japanese grammar, and it’s all written in a way that’s easy to follow. It’s like having a (very) patient teacher right next to you, guiding you through every step.

Then, there’s the second book, which dives into common phrases you’ll actually use, whether you’re navigating public transportation or ordering at a restaurant. The cultural insights sprinkled throughout are super helpful too—it's not just about memorizing words, but really understanding how and when to use them.

And I have to say, the third book with its bilingual short stories is my favorite part. The stories are fun, based on Japanese folktales, and they make learning feel less like a chore and more like an adventure. Plus, practicing with these stories really helps cement what you’ve learned in the first two books.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn Japanese, I'd have to say that this is an excellent guide.
