About this listen
Atticus O'Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he's twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.
Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he's hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a sexy bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.
This is book one of the Iron Druid Chronicles series. If you would like to hear more, you will find the first chapter of book two – Hexed – at the end of this recording.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I love Atticus and his friends - escapist adventure story which captured my imagination immediately. This book finished all too quickly for me - so I had to buy the next two right away to see what would happen next.Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Atticus and also The Widow Lady.Have you listened to any of Christopher Ragland’s other performances? How does this one compare?
This was the first book I have heard narrated by Christopher Ragland - he captured the characters wonderfully and the different voices match very well - though I did have to stop my sewing machine whenever the vampire voice was on - great sibilant whispery effect, but impossible to hear over the machine - will have to buy good headphones to use for the next book. I would definitely look for books narrated by Christopher Ragland - he absolutely understands the author's expression. If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Atticus - last of the Druids - man of mystery and magic - a hero with RED hair??Oh no - another addictive series

If you could sum up Hounded in three words, what would they be?
I bought the book through one of the special offers, and absolutely delighted that i did... it's a great book, easy to read with great characters! In fact, I couldn't wait to find a few moments to listen, even while cooking dinner! the characters are likeable, especially Oberon - Atticus's dog, the side kick of the story. I bought the next two within days of starting the first one :) THANKS!Have you listened to any of Christopher Ragland’s other performances? How does this one compare?
this was my introduction to his performance - but would highly recommend him. His interpretation of Oberon was classic! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely - I just wish that I'd started it on a friday evening, so that I didn't have to worry about going to work!A great start to the series

Would you listen to Hounded again? Why?
Yes. Hounded was a romp of a tale. Many of the minor characters are well drawn, especially Oberon, and the gods are as egocentric and unreliable as you'd expect them to be. Atticus is likeable and I quickly got drawn into the story and wanted to know what happened next. I've already bought the next book in the series.Who was your favorite character and why?
This would have to be Oberon. He was funny and smart and yet still doglike. How you imagine a dog might be if he could really communicate. He was also narrated particularly well, better than the women in the story. What about Christopher Ragland’s performance did you like?
His interpretation of the male characters was very good and Oberon a delight, but I did feel he struggled a little with the female characters, although it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book at all.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It's not that kind of book. Although Oberon's "Only Five." Comment at the end moved me to laughter.Entertaining
