Summary

Basketball always brought them together. Now it might just tear them apart.

Axel

I always wondered what happened to my first love. But after we got caught kissing at church camp, his jerk of a father made sure I never saw him again.

Six years later, I’m streaming a college basketball game in a distant town, trying to decide if I should take a job with the athletic department there, when a familiar face in the crowd leaves me stunned. The school is a thousand miles away, in a tiny rural town. But suddenly, I can’t wait to get there.

Caxton

I can barely believe it when Axel turns up at the college where I’m a grad student. And I’m just as drawn to him as I ever was. But a few stolen kisses are all I’ll ever have. I can’t date. Loving Axel would mean letting go of my younger brothers who need me.

They can’t be together. But as far as their hearts are concerned, it's Hello Forever.

Contains: an angsty, sporty M/M romance with lots of flirting and sporty vibes.

To have the characters from the first book play a part in this story was lovely.
This can be read as a stand-alone book but made it all the better having read the first one before it.
The story was lovely, although there is a bit of angst it wasn’t enough to put a dampener on it.
Teddy is my go to narrator and I can’t get enough of his voice but unfortunately Dake was not the best. It didn’t stop the enjoyment but be warned he is monotone.
Is a great read/listen and would recommend this and Goodbye Paradise. Listened to both books a few times now and great to fall back into when not heard for a while.

I loved this story as much as the first instalment

I enjoyed this but sometimes felt that Cax sounded bored. It didn't stop me enjoying the listen and I'm looking forward to a follow up in the series.

Hope for us all

OK, let's get this out of the way, I agree that the narration was lacking, but in my opinion, the story was still good. Therefore, I would not recommend that people stay away. Just be prepared for a less than stellar performance from one of the narrators.

Now, the story was emotional in parts, fun and sexy in parts, and I loved the connection between the two main characters, the childhood connection. But, be aware that there is trauma, beating for being gay, and parents interfering.

The whole background of the characters has been carefully thought about, giving us enough but not too much detail that you are bored or overwhelmed. I loved how the characters built their confidence throughout the story.

I enjoyed the narration, but I would say that Teddy Hamilton outshone Dake. Personally, I would have chosen a different second narrator, but we didn't write this wonderful book, Sarina Bowen did, and I will now be looking for more books by her.
