A thrilling submarine adventure. A captured U-boat is put into service with the Royal Nay. An action packed book with a tense storyline as the crew perform several dangerous missions with little leave and everyone your enemy. Some great characters but a few stereotypes, a Commander on the brink, the posh and entitled senior officer, the salty up from the ranks officer and the wartime romance. One of his better books a real winner. David Rintoul is the perfect narrator for these stories.

The narrator really committed with god variety of character voices and great ebb and flow to mark battle or slower moments.

The story was enjoyable, with characters sufficiently described without slowing pace. There was tension at times and some human emotion portrayed. It’s mainly an action story, which is what I sought.

To be five stars for me would require a more complex plot or emotional impact. That takes nothing away from this book though. It was an enjoyable page-turner and I’d buy more from this author and narrator.

Never since Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising have I been so taken by a submarine story. A brilliant story with excellent narration. Nothing more to say. Buy it!!@
