In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless.

Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

As the System’s Descent draws near, Drew scrambles to prep supplies, fortify his home, and drag his elderly, TV-addicted mother away from her ‘shows’ long enough to listen to him. With monsters knocking at the door, how far is Drew willing to go to save those closest to him?

The dead rise to combat the encroaching darkness as Drew Wright taps into the only power that might save his loved ones—becoming Earth’s first Necromancer.

I liked it a lot! The story is good, not a tipical necromancer storyline but a well tought story of a reaction to doomsday.

Genuinely entertaining and funny. This story started a little awkwardly but that soon changed as characters were developed and the scale of the story unfolded. I look forward to the next book! The voice acting is superb.

I really liked a lot of things about the book. The premises for the system and possibility for advancement. Some of the choices made by the author doesn't make sense. You get invested in some character that feels like they are going to play some parts as they are mentioned early on and given names and backgrounds, and then it's like they don't exist anymore. I don't want to give away any spoilers. I'll be getting book two when it gets released.

Interesting story

I really wanted to like this but the author just kept throwing new and completely unrelated characters, plots and world building like he was just rolling it up on a random table and then tossing it into the story; interesting characters appeared and then were never mentioned again on a regular basis and I just stopped getting invested in the characters because they would not be developed. I think a quick study of Chekhov's Gun could have really transformed this work into something good but as it is, it just feels like a load of random tat from Temu all thrown into one story and shaken around a bit. At first I thought the narrator was terrible but he quickly sorts himself out and he was one of the better parts of this experience.

Not awful, but too messy and random for me.
