Summary

Don't miss the final instalment in the Dales Detective series!

'A rollicking tale of everyday crime life among rural folk' - Daily Mail

From death to danger and malice to mystery, Samson and Delilah have weathered many storms. Finally, things should be going smoothly. Except life’s never that simple in Bruncliffe, is it?

As the couple are beset with worries about their upcoming wedding, a charismatic celebrity comes knocking on the Dales Detective Agency’s door, seeking their services. Samson is initially reluctant to help, for many reasons. But things quickly escalate following a shocking murder at Fellside Court and, as a friend comes under suspicion, Samson and Delilah must set aside their personal problems to catch a killer.

In a case that will bring so many of Bruncliffe’s secrets out into the open, this final investigation for the Dales Detectives may be the one that breaks them for ever . . .

Date with Destiny is the final instalment in Julia Chapman's much-loved Dales Detective series set in Yorkshire.

A satisfying end to a sweet series with so many likeable, memorable characters and various nefarious crimes. Predictable, but that’s part of the fun. Perfectly narrated, too.

Lovely finish

I was eagerly awaiting the release of this book, while also knowing it would be bittersweet, being the last in the series, but I completely understand that Julia will be excited to write all of the other stories that must be percolating within her amazing mind.
This book was every bit as wonderful as all of the previous 9 have been, with lots of humour and excitement for the residents of Bruncliffe, plus plenty of clever plot twists and red herrings.
The ending of the book and series was handled wonderfully and made me tear up plenty, but with a huge smile on my face nonetheless. Julia's writing and Elizabeth's fantastic narration have been an absolute dream team and I can only hope they are back together for a future series of amazing books.

What a fantastic finish to an incredible series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
