Hey everyone! For today’s episode I was able to bring onto the pod Konstantinos Kolokotronis. Konstantinos is an independent journalist and researcher who focusses on geopolitics and contemporary power politics in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
The discussion we had was on an article Konstantinos wrote titled "Even Dead He Would Win": The Iran War and the Resurrection of the Joint Defence Area Doctrine" which zooms in on the Joint Defense Area Doctrine.
Aside from his article, we also covered a variety of topics, like international law, the realist view of international relations, Greek security concerns, treaties that outline the status of these islands (the Treaty of Laussane, the 1947 Paris Peace treaty, etc etc) Turkish aggression and expansionism in the Aegean, the limits of International law, in a world without a global police.
Please check out Konstantinos’s work on substack.com/@polity21blog
