About this listen
I’m no princess. He’s no protector.
But this is now my kingdom. Blood will spill. Hearts will break.
I just wish it wasn’t my own...
ISABELLA
I was my father’s pride and joy, but I never wanted the crown. The danger and responsibility of my family’s notorious legacy is too much. But when it’s handed to me without warning, there’s no way I can say no.
To make matters worse my father has already hired a protector. Someone who can train me to fight. To kill.
But he’s anything but a defender. He’s my worst nightmare brought to life. So why am I so drawn to him? And why does it feel like all he wants to do is break me? Could it be that this man is as broken as I am?
ARTURO
I don’t do happy endings. Men like me don’t need or deserve them. My life is an endless cycle of blood, torment, and scars.
But she stirs something deep within me. Something I thought I lost a long time ago.
She might be forbidden, but I’ll stop at nothing to have her, consequences be damned.
She’s mine.

The story is already intense and emotional, but Alexis & James made it feel less like listening to a book and more like being pulled straight into Arturo and Isabella’s world. Everything flowed so naturally, immersive, and super easy to get lost in.
You can feel the tension, the chemistry, the vulnerability And the emotional scenes hit hard. You can feel the tension in those quieter moments, the bite in the banter, and the vulnerability when the characters start letting their guards down. Alexis nailed Isabella's badass mafia princess nature, she's fearless and yet insecure and it shines through, she's so conflicted by her feelings Arturo and her responsibility to her family. James' performance as Arturo was everything, he exudes the gruff intensity but also his softer moments that he seems to only have for Isabella (and her nephew Theo) Having listened to Lorenzo's story earlier this year, getting to see how Lorenzo & Anastacia's family grew and how in love they still are was EVERYTHING!
I can’t wait to see what’s in store with this series next

The push and pull between the MCs, the banter, and that perfectly done spice… balanced with so much vulnerability and care. A truly badass FMC, matched with an MMC whose loyalty never wavers, and a connection between them that just works 🤍
This story honestly caught me off guard. The slap in my face that I didn’t see coming 🙈 The moment that made me cry so hard 😭, the sense of justice, and the way their inner circle feels so real and tight-knit, with Arturo fitting in so effortlessly. The strength of Bella, which I loved seeing reflected in Mama Anna’s wit, feisty attitude, and grace, the glimpses of Lorenzo’s POV between chapters, and side characters that don’t just stay in the background but actually capture your attention (and sometimes even your heart 🥺).
🎙 @alexispaigenarrates and @james.joseph.voice were amazing, truly! I love it when narrators instantly pull me into the world the author created, when everything just clicks. The chemistry, the emotions and you can tell they truly understand the characters. Because of that, I was immediately intrigued by both Isabella and Arturo and just had to know more, which made me fly through the chapters.
Sometimes you come across a book that hits exactly the right vibe at the right time.
Thank you @samanthajayne.writes & @bluenoseaudio for this ALC opportunity in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own🫶🏾

The story follows Isabella, who’s suddenly forced to step into a role she never wanted within her family. I really liked her as she’s strong and capable but you also feel how overwhelmed she is. She doesn’t just magically handle everything and that made her feel a lot stronger.
And Arturo… yeah, he’s very much that morally grey, dangerous MMC we all crave. His an assassin who doesn’t believe in happy endings, carries a lot of darkness but at the same time there’s more to him underneath it all. The tension between him and Isabella is immediate and intense, and I was hooked on their dynamic from the start and I just needed more!
I also liked the side characters. Lorenzo (her dad) has that intimidating mafia boss presence but you can tell how much he cares in his own way. Luca’s situation added an emotional layer, and Theo brought some softer moments which balanced out the darker parts of the story. The whole family dynamic felt really solid and I wanted to be part of it.
The audiobook narrators did such a good job with this audio. They added so much emotion to the story and really brought the characters to life. Arturo’s voice (James Joseph) especially had that perfect edge to it and Isabella’s (Alexis Page) narration captured both her strength and vulnerability. It made the whole story feel more intense and immersive.
And my absolute favourite thing about the story and audiobook.. was Arturos BRITISH side.. being a fellow Brit I recognised so many references or slang.. I smiled and chuckled so much at these!
Huge congratulations to Samantha Jayne for creating such an incredible story. ‘Arturo’s Temptation’ was an emotional rollercoaster filled with twists and turns that kept me completely hooked from start to finish. Just when I thought I knew where things were going, something new would happen and pull me even deeper into the story. It had everything… tension, passion, heartbreak and yes, it definitely brought a few tears along the way. This was such a powerful and gripping read, and you can really feel the heart that went into it.
Overall, this was a really gripping, emotional listen with strong characters and great narration. If you like mafia romance, morally grey men and a lot of tension, this is definitely worth it… especially in audiobook form.
As a Brit this was amazing 🤩
