In 1970, a couple years after returning from Vietnam, I wrote my first poem, then quickly destroyed it. The poem was about my father.
Years later, I regretted it and wrote a eulogy that begins this collection. The book begins with poems that anyone would enjoy.
In 1983, PTSD emerged, and Vietnam became the centerpiece of my thoughts and my script.
