Listening to this for the third time now, and it still hits just as hard. The story captures that classic Warhammer 40k grimdark atmosphere, yet offers just enough hope to keep you fully invested. A perfect example of what a true 40k novel should feel like.

Wanting a change from Gaunt's Ghosts but still wanting that Imperial Guard itch - 13th Legion gives you it. Except they're all cannon fodder and expendable- even for the Guard! With gripping combat sections and great narration and getting inside Lt.Kage's mind - I was thoroughly gripped throughout ! Need more of this to hit audible!
