I am a Chair and Professor at Hunter College, City University of New York. My forthcoming book is The Flight Nurses' War: The American Women Who Saved Thousands of Lives at Iwo Jima and Okinawa (Basic Books US/Atlantic Books UK). My last book, X Troop: The Secret Jewish Commandos of World War Two, was featured on CNN, Time Magazine, the Washington Post, the Guardian, CSPAN and a range of other venues.
