Brilliant narration from Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom

This was yet another awesome listen from Sarah and Tor (the narrators) and they once again did an awesome job bringing characters to life!

Typical mafia romance story, so expect plenty of morally gray characters—our central couple are both killers for hire. What I really appreciated was the way their romance develops when she’s hired as a nanny for Dante’s niece. I also enjoy when characters from previous books are woven into the series, and this one does that well.

While it can be listened to as a standalone, I highly recommend experiencing the whole series for the full, immersive effect. The story itself is well written with an interesting, fast-moving plot. Both narrators are long-time favorites of mine, which made this listen an absolute win-win!

The story continues and so does the action! Kristen Luciani has me on edge, and even with hearing Anya and Dante's story, I still need to hear more! But back to this one. Anya is seeking revenge for the murder of her brother. Her uncle's pawn, she is set to integrate into the Villani household and gather any intel she can. As the nanny, she is smitten with the baby as she acclimates herself to domestic chores, but that doesn't stop her senses from being heightened. It could be Dante's presence too. After her close call of being caught at a murder scene by him, she is on edge. In the beginning she was watching him for the danger that is Dante, but now she is watching him for a whole other reason. Dante is the enforcer of the family and is told to watch Anya. While not his typical job, he finds her attractive and as he gets to know her, their feelings begin to grow. The question now, is what will happen when the truth of everything is revealed? Will Dante forgive Anya's deceptions? Betrayals, deceit, passion and true soulmates are determined all in this fabulous maria suspense. I cannot wait until the next one!

Tor Thom and Sarah Puckett continue their narration of this series and they continue to be amazing! Bringing the different accents and their ability to create the passion and build the suspense is second to none. Thom brings out all the alpha. broody male that Dante is. Full of himself, family loyalty and strong commitments, his voice is strong and commanding. Anya is strong and determined, yet holds a vulnerability that shines through her. Puckett delivers! Loved these two.

Two assassin's from opposite warring Families meet and connect on a base level. So many secrets and lies. Mafia goings on. I've enjoyed another book in this series slightly more.
