About this listen

A historical romance set in London, a small English town, and Paris. Remarkably well-crafted, with nuanced male and female characters, this book launched Georgette's 53-book best-selling career.

I have been particularly collecting Georgette Heyer and other audio titles for year and this is absolutely the WORST audio book I have ever had the misfortune to buy.
The readers voice is monotonous and totally lacking in any inflection or characterisation. I'm sorry i didn't ask for a refund within the time frame. The nexus or BBC audio books are the best

not worth it!

Words can’t describe just how badly the narrator murdered the text. Plus the tinny music in the background added a certain something to the awfulness of the whole.

Truly awful

I love the book to read for myself but this narration is dreadful. I had to delete it from my kindle. Don't waste your money on this version.

As soon as I started listening to this I knew I couldn’t carry on. I like a Regency book to be read in an English accent and the correct English pronunciation. I hated the American narration and I loathed the tinny music playing in the background. It is dreadful. I would have returned it but I can’t find out how!
